An individual involved in providing health care to injured, sick, and well persons. Tasks and duties may include nursing evaluations, observation, care and counsel of the ill, impaired, or infirm; maintenance of health or prevention of illness, administration of medication and treatments as prescribed by a licensed physician or dentist; and supervision or teaching of nursing.
