IC 25-23-1-1.2 Sec. 1.2. As used in this chapter, "licensed practical nurse" means a person who holds a valid license issued under this chapter or by a party state (as defined in IC 25-23.3-2-11) and who functions at the direction of: (1) a registered nurse; (2) a physician with an unlimited license to practice medicine or osteopathic medicine; (3) a licensed dentist; (4) a licensed chiropractor; (5) a licensed optometrist; or (6) a licensed podiatrist; in the performance of activities commonly performed by practical nurses and requiring special knowledge or skill.
