In Nevada, the owner or responsible managing employee (RME) of a business that installs or repairs manufactured homes, mobile homes or commercial coaches must be licensed. Licensing categories are: General Serviceman and Specialty Serviceman. General serviceman applicants must pass the required exam with a score of at least 75%, and submit fingerprints for a background check. Specialty serviceman must have a Nevada contractors license. They are limited to performing repairs in their licensed specialty only. Fees are subject to change. Fees are: exam --$50; license fee --$450; background check --$38.25 (money order payable to DPS); exam study guide --$15; renewal (2 years)- $350.
