Flame effects operators and assistants must have a certificate of registration. Applicants must: 1) Be at least 21 years old and be able to give written and oral orders in English. 2) Have not been convicted of a felony or have an addiction to drugs or alcohol. 3) Have a working knowledge of federal, state and local laws pertaining to the safe storage, handling and use of explosive materials. 4) Pass any exam deemed necessary by the State Fire Marshal.
