JOB DESCRIPTION: A cosmetologist/hairdresser/hairstylist shampoos, cuts, and styles hair. The cosmetologist also analyzes the condition of hair and advises patrons on proper hair care. Some cosmetologists give manicures and scalp and facial treatments, provide makeup analysis for women, and clean and style wigs and hairpieces. The employer assigns additional responsibilities such as client scheduling. Most cosmetologists work in beauty salons, barbershops, department stores, and for products companies.
