Massage therapy is a health care service, which applies massage for therapeutic purposes. The manipulations include stroking, kneading, percussion, compression, vibration, friction, and nerve strokes, and are administered by hand or with mechanical or electrical apparatus. Massage therapists also use oils, salt glows, heat lamps, hot and cold packs, and tub, shower, or cabinet baths in their works. They do not diagnose or treat illness or disease.
